Dear Parents and Students:

In order to improve school/home communication, I have developed a web page listing daily lesson plans and homework help for students in D106. The address is:

www.mrssterling.org/school/index.html

Students are expected to complete work assigned in-class during the class period. Homework is required daily Monday through Thursday. Late work is not accepted unless the student has been absent, and make-up work is due the day after the student returns. This site is intended to help students with organization of their work.

If you do not have internet access at home or work, please note that internet services are available at the public library, or in my room before and after school.

If you would like to access your student's attendance and grades for my classes, you will need the information included in this letter; I do not post student names. The site posting this information is available as a link from my site under "Grades"; the site is www.mygradebook.com

Please access my website and your student's grades. Notify me if there are any problems. I suggest you arrange with me to change your student's password immediately; an e-mail, note, or student conference would be best.  The website is my personal site; it is not a part of Windsor Unified School District, and I bear all responsibility for its contents.

State and district academic standards are clear and rigorous. Individual success depends on a student's attitude, and proper time-management is crucial to allowing students enough time away from schoolwork to relax, play, and socialize. A good balance of activities in a student's life is necessary, and adult support will help each student develop the skills needed to be both productive and happy. Let's work together to provide this for students again this year. Please contact me at school, 837-7737, ext. 133, or by e-mail ksterling@wusd.org or from my site.

As a trial, I have set up a grade sheet for one of my favorite students, Alloysious McGillicuddy Ztockingchild;

I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Katherine Sterling, M.Ed., NBCT
